What is Film Week and how can you take part?
Film Week is a four-day cinema promotion that encourages people to return to the big screen at a special price. This edition runs from 19 to 22 October, with tickets priced at €3.50 for films showing at participating cinemas.
There is no need to register or get accredited. Depending on the cinema, you can buy tickets at the box office, on its website or at a self-service kiosk in the foyer. Tickets went on sale on 14 October.
The special price may not apply to every format or screening. 3D, IMAX and 4DX screenings, VIP seating and special events may have a supplement or separate terms. Online bookings may also include a booking fee. Check the final price and screening conditions before paying.
The offer applies to films listed in the programme of a participating cinema. A film may be showing at one venue but not another, so check the schedule on the cinema’s own website.

10 films to look out for
October’s listings bring together major releases, Spanish cinema, thrillers, action and family films. Here is our pick of titles to look for during Film Week. Film availability and screening times vary between cinemas, so check the listings before making plans.
- Digger – A satire by Alejandro G. Iñárritu, starring Tom Cruise. A good choice if you enjoy big-screen filmmaking, dark humour and a sharp edge.
- El precio de la red – A thriller set in the world of social media and big tech. It may appeal to viewers drawn to stories about power, the media and current affairs.
- Verity – A psychological thriller starring Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson, based on Colleen Hoover’s novel. A pick for an evening of suspense.
- Whalefall – A survival thriller built around an extreme adventure premise. For viewers who like the tension to keep building.
- La otra madre – A horror film starring Jessica Chastain. A good option if you want to add an unsettling edge to your movie marathon.
- La maleta – A Spanish comedy for anyone in the mood for something lighter.
- Street Fighter – An action film inspired by the popular video game series. It could be a fun choice for fans of adaptations and spectacle.
- Lucky Strike – A Second World War drama about a soldier separated from his unit and fighting to survive.
- Doraemon: Aventuras en el mundo del arte – Animated adventure for a family cinema outing.
- El árbol muy muy lejano – Family fantasy about children who discover a magical tree and the worlds it can lead them to.
The selection covers different genres and audiences, but it is a guide rather than a substitute for the cinema listings. Some films may not be showing at every venue or on every day of the promotion. If you are looking for a subtitled original-language screening, check the language details as well.

How to combine a film with an autumn break
Film Week can be a good excuse to stay a little longer and explore Alicante at a slower pace. Spend the day wandering through the old town, visiting Santa Bárbara Castle or a museum, or heading to Postiguet Beach. Save a cinema session for the evening, followed by dinner or a drink.
Alicante Smart Hotel, in the Carolinas Bajas neighbourhood, can make a practical base for this kind of trip. It is around 1.5 km from the city centre and railway station, about a 20-minute walk from Postiguet Beach, and close to Santa Bárbara Castle and the bullring. The rooms include a kitchen, which can be handy if you are staying for a few days and prefer to prepare some of your own meals.
The autumn offer makes it easier to extend your trip beyond the four days of Film Week. Book three nights for 15% off or five nights for 20% off. The offer also includes a bottle of Alicante wine per stay and late check-out until 1:00 pm, subject to availability. It is valid for stays from 15 September to 30 November 2026 and cannot be combined with the Club Alegría discount or other promotions.
