One of Alicante’s major theatre events this October begins on the 8th. La Cubana arrives at Teatro Principal with its new production, La Cuisine de ma Cousine, featuring the company’s trademark blend of comedy, music, absurd situations, colourful characters and audience interaction.

Friday, October 9
Circarte 2026 – festival opening
Festival Circarte begins on October 9, bringing one of Alicante’s leading contemporary circus festivals back to the city. The 2026 programme features dozens of performances and activities at venues across Alicante, with a large part of the programme available free of charge.
The opening day takes place in Zona Norte. Plaza de Argel will host a circus skills workshop and face painting, followed by a street parade with the Klakibum batucada. The day ends with Tres Tristes Trolls by LaNördika.

Music in the Garden – Electronic Edition
On the same day, Alicante’s port will turn into a major electronic music venue. Music in the Garden: Electronic Edition promises more than ten hours of music by the sea, with DJ sets, food and visual shows.
Headliners include French duo Ofenbach and French Touch pioneer Étienne de Crécy. Blitzmix and Sin Planet Showcase are also on the line-up.
