Locals still queue for ice cream at midnight. The beaches are busier than in October but nowhere near the July crush.<\/p>\n<p><strong>October<\/strong> is where things get interesting. It&#8217;s cooler, yes, closer to 22-23\u00b0C by day, but it&#8217;s also the month when Alicante starts to feel like itself again after the tourist rush. Terraces have space. Restaurant staff have time to chat. Prices on flights and rentals tend to drop. The Levante wind can pick up occasionally, bringing a bit of humidity, but nothing that spoils an evening out.<\/p>\n<p><strong>October<\/strong> cools gradually rather than suddenly. Early in the month you can still expect highs near 24-25\u00b0C; by the end, that drops closer to 19-21\u00b0C. Mornings and evenings acquire a genuine autumn crispness, which, frankly, is rather nice after a hot summer. Layers become useful. The sea sits around 24-25\u00b0C, warmer in many cases than a British summer.<\/p>\n<p>In October, the water cools slowly, typically ranging from 21\u00b0C at the start of the month to around 19-20\u00b0C by the end. That&#8217;s entirely swimmable for anyone who isn&#8217;t especially fussy, and plenty of locals carry on well past the point most tourists have packed their towels away.<\/p>\n<p>By November, the sea drops to roughly 17-18\u00b0C. Brisk, certainly, but not shocking, particularly if you&#8217;re used to the North Sea or the Atlantic off Cornwall. A fair number of regulars keep swimming through November purely out of habit, and on a calm, sunny day it&#8217;s genuinely enjoyable rather than an endurance test.
